Lightening Bolt

Let's start with Olympic news. Today was extremely interesting. When I switched on my tv, the young Red Devils were playing their game against Italy. The score at half time was 2-1 so that was positive. In the second half Italy was rewarded a second penalty and they scored. 2-2 and 10 Belgian players against 11 Italians. But then, Dembele made an amazing action. He started off at his own half of the field, walked through the Italian defense and scored with an amazing shot from outside the 16-area box! After this goal the Italian goalie lost his temper (after one of the Belgian guys provoked him) and he got a red card. After this, both team had some small chances but no one scored so we go through to the semi finals! Those will take place this Tuesday and we will play... Nigeria!
Afterwards the semi finals 100m men. Big surprise, even though I am not surprised. Tyson Gay failed to make the finals. Try to follow the athletics as much as possible and I saw it coming. He wasn't that good the past months and he showed his bad form in the quarter finals yesterday too. Afterwards I heard him say he didn't gave it all because his only job was to get into the semi finals. When I heard him say that, I knew he was swanking. He knew he wasn't good enough and that's why he only finished second in his race. But he couldn't say it out loud because that would influence his competitors. But today he couldn't hide it and he failed to qualify for the finals. He only finished 5th in his race. And then the finals. We all knew Asafa Powell has problems with handling the stress and pressure. When he was standing there, he looked more relaxed then last year for the World Championships (where he was soaking wet from sweating due to the pressure). We all know how that ended... He lost to Gay. But it went wrong again. His start was only average and he finished only in fifth place. Very disappointing. I don't understand why there is no mental coach to help him. The guy has talent, no one is going to deny. He ran world records, but only when there was no pressure on him... But once he was in the final of a major event, he mentally crashed. Athens 2004, Osaka 2007,... He has the talent, now he only needs to be able to control the pressure. But Usain Bolt. Only 21 and this relaxed. Before the finals he was making dance moved and entertaining the Chinese crowd. It was like he had no stress at all! Fine he is Jamaican and the Caribbean mentality is like that but such a young guy in such an event! The race itself was amazing too. He ran a new world record and the last 10 meter he even didn't gave himself fully anymore. Such a great talent. Congrats Bolt, I hope you win the 200m too. A reporter counted that he only made 45 steps during the final so that's more than 2,5 meter/step. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
Last sports I watched was basketball. Today the Redeem Team played world champions Spain. But yet again, they were unstoppable. They never got into trouble. Maybe there was less 'show time' than during the previous matches against Angola and China, but still they won very convincing.
But just a general impression: those bodies! Drool! lOl. Bolt, Powell, Wade, ... All bodies to die for. Hopefully all natural cause it would be bad for the sports that there would be another Gatlin-like affaire. Would also be bad for me because yet another broken dream that bodies like that can only be obtained by using illegal products.

Had an interesting conversation yesterday with Lolu and indirectly, she made me think. This is what I came up with. Just some nasty daydreams: my future hubby Tyson Beckford; concubine Dwyane Wade, secret lovers Bafé Gomis, Emile Mpenza and Joseph Akpala... lOl! Dream on girl, dream on.
