A white mans world

Isnt dere sum moral rule 'bout journalistic truth anymo'? When I was watching da news on tv sum days ago, I felt sick to ma stomac. Dere was an item about Bokrijk. It showed da king visiting da park nd being taught bout Belgium nd our history. But what bothered me da most was da part dey broadcasted. It was about Congo Free State when it was still a Belgian Colony.

"Do you know what the good man [Léopold II] did? He gave us Congo Free State. He wanted to donate it to Belgium so we could help those poor and underdeveloped people"

Really, I was shocked when I heard dis. Dats re-writing da history. King Leopold is known as da genocidal maniac. He received international criticism for da cruel thangs he did -cutting off hands etc-. Dats also da reason why he was forced to hand over Congo Free State to Belgium. He never helped dem. He even made it worse. Congo was a goldmine to us. Dere rubber made us rich... Nd all he did was sow anger nd rage. Y'all really think dose railways were put dere for da locals? nah dey were put dere for "us" so we could transport da products "we" stole. Seems like history is always written from a white mans point of view...
